Happy Birthday Shane

I can't believe Shane is 7!!! He is getting so grown up and surprises me every day what he can do! He is a good little reader and he loves geography. At dinner we play trivia with the kids.and we were always doing Disney movie trivia but now Shane always asks for geography trivia! He remembers everything too! His new favorite game is monopoly and he beats both John and I! He is really good with the money in monopoly, lots of times before I tell him how much change he needs to give he has figured it out! We had his first friend Birthday party at the park and I think they all had fun!

He wanted a flat race car cake!! Thanks Shane that was a lot simpler than what I was thinking!

More Connor Funnies

Connor was picking out a candy from their parade loot and I told him he could only have one so he was taking for ever methodically looking over each piece and says, "kids love candy so they all have to be good for childs"

The other day when we were at the store on the way out Connor told the cashier "take care" the cashier looks over at one of the other employees there and says, "that little boy just told me to take care!"

We have been practicing with Connor on his bike with no training wheels and he was doing really well so I told him I thought he was good enough to ride all the way to school. He looks over at me and says, "really mom, do you think I have the skills"

Connor always keeps us laughing!

The chicks new home

We brought the chickens home April 6, 2010. The kids have been having so much fun doing "chicken Chores!" We have a hard time trying to keep Brooke from taking too much care of them. I think John has had just as much fun as the kids! and I have to admit so far they have been a lot more fun than I had expected!

Even Grandma and Great Grandma come down to enjoy the chicks!

Think Chickens!

That is the text John sent me about a month ago. ( I know I am slow but better late than never!)

My response was WHAT?

Well one thing led to another and by that night the coop was pretty well built!

What a dad won't do!

John was supposed to be getting the kids ready for church and this is how I found him. Poor guy was so tired he didn't even notice the bucket on his head!
This really shows what a great dad he really is!

The elk hunt of men!!

When the elk was down after some good shoot'n , the GPS confirmed
our fear of how far we were from any road.
HOLY #!?*
The bull was green scored at 322 B.C.

awkward load.

Purple sage outfitters got noth'in on us!

The two whipping boys

Making our way out through the tangle of trees.
The pack out was long , grueling , very sweaty and
I even think their was a couple of tears between outbursts
of how bad and tough we were.

In the home stretch.
Our day (quest) began at 3:30 am and came to an end
around 4:00 pm.
With only about 1 bottle of water apiece and a couple of granola bars the
impossible was accomplished.

Last trip with the meat thanks to Umberto Bieza and his
trusty steeds.

What a great hunting season!
